The Maine Black Bears completed a weekend sweep of the Binghamton Bearcats baseball team May 9 in Orono with a 9-0 decision.  Maine had captured a doubleheader from Binghamton on Friday.

The Bearcats could not find timely hitting against Black Bear pitching.  BU had eight hits but stranded ten runners.  Maine used a five-run eighth inning to break open the game.

BU has three more games remaining on the regular season schedule.  They host Stony Brook in a doubleheader beginning at noon on May 15 and conclude with a single game on the 16th.

The Bearcats need to sweep the series to have a shot at qualifying for the post-season America East tournament.  BU is now 6-14 in the conference and 17-22 overall.
