“B.C.” Cartoonist and Partner Open 24-Hour Gym on Front Street
A Broome County cartoonist is one of the new owners of a fitness center just north of Binghamton.
BC Fit at 1247 Upper Front Street in the town of Chenango will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony in early October. The 24-hour gym is now operating where an Anytime Fitness franchise had been located.
Mason Mastroianni and Tom Testa decided to team up when they learned the gym where they were members was preparing to close. They acquired the assets to clear the way for the launch of BC Fit.
Mastroianni is the current B.C. and Wizard of Id cartoonist. Mick Mastroianni, the Wizard of Id writer is part of the BC Fit team.
Work on the transition from Anytime Fitness to BC Fit got underway in May. BC Fit launched operations on June 1.
Mason Mastroianni created a logo for the gym featuring the beloved dinosaur seen in the B.C. comic strip. He spent much of June sprucing up the fitness center's wall with original artwork.
The gym offers members access to the facility 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week.
