Finishing touches are being put on a community Christmas dinner that has not only been offered for three decades but is now held in Binghamton, Endicott and Norwich.

Thousands are expected to attend the Bandera Family Free Christmas Dinner at American Legion Post 80 in Binghamton, Saint Ambrose School in Endicott and American Legion Post 189 in Norwich.

The event has grown from a few dozen diners showing up at the Legion on Main Street in Binghamton in 1989 to an expected 4,000 turkey dinners served between the three venues and home deliveries.

The dinners start in Binghamton and Endicott at noon and continue to three 3 p.m. Christmas Day.  The Norwich dinner is from 1 to 4 p.m.
