B.U. Nursing Grad. Students to Live & Work in Rural Communities
Over two-dozen Binghamton University nursing program graduate students are heading into the field to help under-served communities that could include some in the Twin Tiers.
A new program is training 30 grad. students with the Decker School of Nursing through a federal grant that sends them to live and work in rural communities in New York and Pennsylvania.

The $2.8 million grant is coming from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Administrators have said it is hoped that the participating graduate students may decide to stay and work in those rural communities once the training program is concluded.
Another round of federal funding to keep the program going and possibly expanding is anticipated for next year.
