On Friday morning Binghamton Mets President and Co-Owner Michael Urda dispelled rumors that the ball club would leave Binghamton after next season.  Urda told WNBF's Roger Neel that there is no current deal on the table to sell or move the team elsewhere.  Urda says fans can plan on the team being here next season, in 2017 and beyond.  Binghamton has a working agreement with the New York Mets through the 2020 season.

The comments put to rest at least for now rumors that a prospective new owner would move the operation from Binghamton to Delaware for the 2017 season.  Urda says the New York Mets are very happy with the Binghamton affiliation as evidenced by Major League rehab assignments over recent weeks for Lucas Duda, Steven Matz and Travis d'Arnaud.
