Erie SeaWolves Sweep Binghamton Mets in Double Header
The Binghamton Mets fell to the visiting Erie SeaWolves in a doubleheader at home 5-1 and 3-1.
Binghamton throttled the SeaWolves 10-1 Monday to up its record to 69-57. T J Rivera went 4-4 while Brock Peterson banged out three hits for the B-Mets. Rainy Lara earned the win that puts his record at 7-5. Binghamton remains in second place in the Eastern Division and trails Reading by 3.5 games.
The B-Mets are playing 20 games in 18 days to close out the regular season. Steven Matz is scheduled to make a rehab start August 26 as he looks to continue his recover from a pulled lat muscle.
