The Binghamton Mets toppled the division-leading Trenton Thunder at NYSEG Stadium 9-4 to pull to within one-half game of the first place team in the Eastern Division.  Binghamton took three out of four games against Trenton in the weekend battle to win its third consecutive series and raise its overall record to 50-43. The B-Mets have now won nine of the last 11 contests they have played.

Gavin Cecchini paced the offense with four hits and four RBI.  One of those hits was his seventh home run of the season.  L.J. Mazzilli also ripped four hits for the B-Mets.  Xorge Carillo smacked his fifth home run of the season as well.

Rainy Lara had a strong outing going six innings to earn the win upping his record to 5-2.  Caleb Smith took the loss and falls to 8-5.

Binghamton begins a seven-game road trip July 20 at New Britain in a 7:05 p.m. game.  air is set for 6:50 on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
