Battling cold temperatures and blustery winds today at NYSEG Stadium the Binghamton Mets and Akron RubberDucks split a doubleheader.. The B-Mets won the first game 6-3 and Akron came back with a shutout victory 3-0 in the nightcap.

Rainy Lara made his first Double-A start and earned the victory.  Lara allowed  eight hits over 5-1/3 innings of work.  He surrendered three runs, struck out three and walked one.  Chasen Bradford worked the seventh inning to close out the game for the B-Mets.

In the second game Tyler Pill was touched for all three runs as he worked four innings.  John Church and Jon Velasquez held the RubberDucks hitless over the final three innings but the B-Mets could not muster enough offense  to put any runs on the scoreboard.

The B-Mets close out the series at 1:05 PM tomorrow at NYSEG Stadium.  Hansel Robles will make the start for the B-Mets while Will Roberts gets the ball for the RubberDucks.  Airtime for the game is 12:50 on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
