This project included the installation of a second roll stand on AVRE’s paper sheeter, which means an output increase from 6,000 to 12,000 reams per shift. In the future, AVRE will begin construction of a new warehouse, allowing more storage for finished goods.
Not only does this project strengthen our manufacturing capabilities, but the revenue it generates will also directly fund the growth of our vision rehabilitation. - Ken Fernald, President and CEO of AVRE Services
AVRE notes in the announcement that modifications this year have included widening a wall opening, installing structural supports, upgrading electrical and compressed air systems, and implementing a trolley system to facilitate safe and efficient movement of paper rolls.
Eight new jobs have been created from this new expansion. These new jobs support individuals who are blind or visually impaired. AVRE also noted that it has successfully integrated adaptive technology into its Digicut paper converting equipment, enabling 100% operation of the department by individuals who are blind or visually impaired.
