The Southern Tier Chapter of the American Red Cross is assisting two adults and 14 children displaced by a two alarm fire at their home November 13 at around 7:15 a.m.

Glen Aubry fire officials say while the cause is under investigation, it looks like the blaze at the home on Swan Hill Road in Nanticoke started in the chimney and quickly spread.

There were no injuries.

Additional mutual aid was called in due to a lack of available volunteers in some departments. Assisting fire companies include Maine, Lisle, and Whitney Point.

The Glen Aubry Fire Department has posted on Facebook that Station #1 is open at various time to accept donations of necessities for the family like clothing, diapers and wipes.

Officials say they are looking for girls’ junior medium size shirts, pants, underwear, adult socks, 36-A size bra, girls shoes size 8 ½ as well as 29 by 30 boys’ pants, medium-size shirts, boxer shorts, large men’s socks.
