A patrol noticed a man in the area of apartments at 110 Main Street near Chestnut Street at around 3 a.m. May 28 with flames seen at the rear and side of the building.  The small fire was confined to the outside of the building but New York State Electric and Gas was contacted to take care of any issues with electric or gas service to the building.

Authorities were looking for a man described as witnesses as in his early 20s, skinny, wearing a red, hooded sweatshirt with the hood over his head and carrying a backpack, running toward Edwards Street cutting through back yards and behind buildings.

There were no injuries reported.
