Authorities say 30-year-old Brandon Kie of Apalachin pleaded guilty in federal court in Binghamton to receiving child pornography via the internet.

According to prosecutors, sentencing has been scheduled for January 27. They say Kie faces a minimum sentence of five years and up to 20 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000 and a term of supervised release of at least five years and up to life. He also will be required to register as a sex offender.

In his plea, Kie admitted that he used a computer to connect to several child pornography web sites and also connected to other computers using peer-to-peer software programs.

Authorities say Kie received and downloaded more than 500 images and more than 12 video of child pornography.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
