The second legal cannabis retail shop in the Binghamton area is expected to open soon.

Greenery Spot Dispensary will operate at 246 Main Street in Johnson City. The storefront, which has been vacant in recent years, has been occupied by various businesses including a law office and a travel agency.

The store will be operated by Greenery Spot LLC, which was awarded a dispensary license by the New York State Cannabis Control Board on April 3. The company is owned by Christopher Myers, Brandon Myers and Gregory Myers.

The partners have been busy setting up the shop in recent weeks. Christopher Myers said the dispensary is expected to open on June 28. The operating hours for the business have not been announced.

Broome County's first legal cannabis store has been in operation for more than four months.

The Just Breathe shop at 75 Court Street in downtown Binghamton opened on February 10 as the first retail dispensary in upstate New York. Damien Cornwell was awarded the license for that store last November.
