Broome County Sheriff’s officials say a report of a cell phone theft at a Town of Dickinson hotel apparently turned out to be a case of a marijuana customers leaving without paying.

At 4:19 p.m. December 10, 25 year old Chukuka Ndame of Binghamton told authorities that his phone had been taken.

Deputies say they determined Ndame made the report in an attempt to get even with people who stole his marijuana.

He’s charged with criminal sale of marijuana and falsely reporting an incident.

One of the alleged thieves reportedly gave the Deputy a fake name to try to conceal he was wanted on a felony count.

Officials say 21 year old Dustin Palmatier of Harpursfield was wanted by the New York State Division of Parole for felony burglary.  He’s also charged now with false personation.

Ndame was ordered to appear in Town of Dickinson Court at a later date while Palmatier was sent to the Broome County Jail.
