74 Lose Jobs At Binghamton Pepsi Plant
A Pepsi bottling facility that operated on Binghamton's East Side for several decades has closed, leaving dozens of people out of work.
The plant at 5 Broad Avenue had employed 74 people.
In late September, Pepsi Beverages Company announced it intended to shut down the facility.

In its announcement, Pepsi indicated the plant was expected to close by November 15.
The site appeared mostly idle this afternoon. Although three cars were in the parking lot, no trucks were at the plant.
The lights were on in the office but no one was available to talk with a reporter.
There was no immediate comment from representatives at PepsiCo headquarters in Westchester County.
