A Wysox, Pennsylvania woman has found someone beat her to it when it comes to filing her tax return.

Pennsylvania State Police say the 44 year old woman found Feburary 19, as she went to file her tax return, that someone had already tried to file in her name.

The Internal Revenue Service has put a stop on the return and the woman didn’t lose any money at the current time.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Pennsylvania State Police but IRS officials say false filings during tax time are common and often hard to track down if someone’s personal information has been hacked.

Financial advisors also say, however, filing electronically is more secure than putting a tax return in the mail.
