Broome County Sheriff’s Deputies say they arrested a Binghamton woman  after getting reports of a car traveling west in the eastbound lane of Route 17 near the Airport Road exit in the Town of Dickinson.

Additional calls shortly after 12 a.m. May 13 tracked the car passing the Oakdale Mall exit and continuing west toward Endwell in the wrong lane.

The errant car then veered to the right, into the median, hitting several sign posts and striking the guide rail repeatedly before coming to a rest in the grass.

54 year old Donna Bell-Taylor was found in the vehicle and Deputies said they smelled alcohol on her.

Her blood alcohol content was measured at two and a half times the legal limit at .20%.

Bell-Taylor was charged with aggravated drunk driving, driving the wrong way on a divided highway and other vehicle and traffic violations.

The car was demolished and had to be towed from the scene.
