A Deposit woman is accused of being drunk and driving the wrong way on Route 17 Sunday morning.

Broome County Sheriff's Deputies say there were numerous calls to authorities about a vehicle traveling east in the westbound lanes at around 2:30 a.m. at the Route 17/Interstate 81 split.  Authorities say the vehicle continued southbound in the northbound lane of I-81 near Exit 4. An on-coming New York State Department of Transportation plow truck narrowly avoided hitting the vehicle, stopping in time.

Deputy Daniel Thomas stopped 35 year old Beth More, but she reportedly attempted to drive off again when Deputy Thomas ordered her to get out of her vehicle. The deputy narrowly avoided being dragged by the vehicle as he reached in to put it in park.

In addition to being accused of driving with a blood alcohol level at more than .18%, Moore is charged with reckless driving, no seatbelt, having an open container of alcohol in the vehicle with intent to consumer, improper entrance of a controlled access highway and improper use of a four way flasher.

She's been ordered to appear in City of Binghamton Court at a later date.
