The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team (WWAST) will return to NYSEG Stadium this Saturday for a doubleheader.  The first game begins at 6 PM as they face a team of local law enforcement personnel.  In the second game WWAST meets a BAE Systems Celebrity Team.

The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team last visited here on May 26, 2012. The team is comprised of members who sustained severe injuries resulting in amputation while serving in the military.  Through extensive rehabilitation they have returned to the athletic field to be competitive athletes again.

The gates to NYSEG Stadium open Saturday at 4:30 PM.  WWAST members will hold an autograph session from 4:30 to 5 PM.  Opening ceremonies begin at 5:30 PM.  The night will be capped off with a Fireworks Show in tribute to these American heroes who make up the WWAST.

Advance tickets are available at the NYSEG Stadium box office.  Box seats are $11 per person while reserved grandstand seats are $9 each.  Prices increase on Saturday to $12 for box seats and $10 for reserved grandstand seating.  CEO and General Manager of the Wounded Warriors Amputee Softball Team, David Van Sleet, will talk about his team and Saturday's appearance at NYSEG tomorrow morning at 8:10 with Roger Neel on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
