Pennsylvania State Police say they are investigating an attempt to steal an automatic teller machine in Wayne County on June 1 at 3:43 a.m.

Investigators say they now have found a dark blue rear bumper near the scene of Kwik Joes on Hamlin Highway in Salem Township with a license plate attached.  The vehicle had been reported stolen in the Scranton area.

Someone smashed through the front door of the store and wrapped a chain around the ATM, but were unsuccessful in pulling it out.

Anyone seeing a dark blue 1989 to 1996 Buick Century missing a bumper is asked to call state police at (570) 963-4295.
