There are plenty of road repair and construction projects going on around our area.  Workers are trying to get as much done as possible before the inevitable cold weather and snow bring repairs to a halt.  The Prospect Mountain Project and Route 434 re-paving work are two of the biggest jobs going. Another large project involves work on Riverside Drive in Binghamton.

Riverside Drive gets lots of use and provides a vital link to Lourdes Hospital as well.  Anyone who has traveled that roadway knows it was in desperate need of repair.  The City of Binghamton is taking care of renovation and repair work from Front Street to near Lourdes Hospital.  Phase Two is set for next year and that will complete paving from Lourdes to the Johnson City line.

The current stretch of Riverside Drive being worked on is from Front Street to near Oak Street.  This will cause detours onto Leroy Street for motorists for the next several weeks.  The City plans to open segments of Riverside Drive as repairs are completed.
