A Binghamton woman is accused of participating in the robbing and killing of a black man in a racial incident.

Prosecutors say 38 year old Ariana Edwards and her boyfriend, 31 year old Bradley Miles are white supremacists.

Edwards is attempting to have the label: “White Supremacist” left out of her upcoming trial in the killing of 38 year old Michael Thomas inside an apartment on Mathers Street in August of 2015. Edwards’ trial is to start January 30.

Prosecutors allege Edwards told Miles that Thomas raped her with the intent to have him react by killing the black man.

Edwards is also accused of trying to intimidate a witness.

Miles pleaded guilty to manslaughter and attempted robbery in November.  He is to be sentenced February 1.

Edwards is being held in the Broome County Jail.
