Woman Killed While Crossing the Road in Town of Oneonta
A Walton woman is dead after being hit by a vehicle as she was walking across State Route 23 near State Highway 28 in Pindars Corners in the Town of Oneonta October 13.
New York State Police say 45 year old Katy Doughty was crossing in an area that is not lit and there was no crosswalk at 8:18 p.m. when she was hit by a vehicle traveling east on State Route 23.
Authorities say two people passing the area at the time provided CPR until Oneonta Emergency Medical Services and the Pindars Corners Fire Department arrived but they were unable to save the woman. Doughty was pronounced dead at the scene.
State Police say the accident remains under investigation and, at this time, no tickets have been issued.
