A Cortland woman is charged with drunk driving, speeding and driving on an unsafe tire after crashing into a utility pole and a stop sign.

Cortland County Sheriff’s officials say 39 year old Caroline Howard was charged after they responded to a report of a crash involving an injury on East River Crossing Road and East River Road in the Town of Homer.

Officials say after hitting the utility pole and stop sign, the vehicle continued north and hit another telephone pole and tree before coming to a stop in a yard.

Howard was taken to Cortland Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries suffered in the crash.
