Woman Escapes Burning Car in Owego

The driver of a car traveling on Route 17C in Owego August 15 is uninjured in spite of her car bursting into flames.

Officials with the Owego Fire Department says the woman was headed to work at around 10:45 a.m. when she saw smoke and flames coming from the dashboard.

She managed to pull into Martin Plumbing and Heating on Waverly Road.

Authorities say within minutes the car was fully engulfed in flames but the woman managed to escape.
