Police have charged a woman for allegedly striking someone with a wooden bedpost during a disturbance in Cortlandville.

Authorities say 39-year-old Heidi Marsden of North Syracuse was arrested following the May 25 morning incident.

According to the Cortland County Sheriff's Office, Marsden apparently had been trying to retrieve some of her property which had been stored on Kellogg Road in Cortlandville.

A dispute erupted and Marsden is said to have used a bedpost to strike a person in the back several times.

Investigators say Marsden had left the area by the time officers arrived but she was taken into custody a short time later by Cortland police.

Marsden was charged with harassment, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon.

Marsden was arraigned in Cortlandville town court and released on her own recognizance. She was ordered to reappear in court on June 8.
