Out of all the romantic dinner for two recipes submitted to WNBF's first Homemade Cooking Challenge, three emerged as the most appealing and creative and were sent on to Sue from the Kitchen Store in Owego to prepare for the panel of Townsquare Media judges.

Funny, the selected panel of judges quickly grew as word got out there was food in the break room.

In the end, with Sue prodding each judge to settle on which recipe they would want to take home to their sweetie, Pete Patten's Beef Tuscany was named the winner of the $85 cooking lesson for two from Sue.

The other entries were also clearly winners in their own right.

Kathy Bastow entered her Pomegranate Roast of Lamb, which was not only visually beautiful, but impressed the judges with the pomegranate sauce instead of the standard mint jelly normally served with lamb.

Albert Widmer III submitted a truly unique recipe that called for use of an Eastern European canned fish called Riga Sprats, but Sue said she thought other fish could be used.

Mr. Widmer's recipe was Hearty Salad with sprats.  The judges really liked the vinaigrette and the several varieties of olives.

Congratulations and thanks to everyone who entered and stay tuned for future recipe challenges!
