The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for freezing rain from 10 p.m. January 8 to 7 a.m. January 9.

Forecasters say a tenth of an inch or less of ice accumulation and a small coating of sleet is possible for areas along and east of the Interstate 81 corridor in Central New York.

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain could cause travel difficulties.

Motorists are advised to be prepared for slippery road conditions and limited visibilities in the affect areas during the advisory period.
