A Windsor Middle School student is being recognized for helping fellow students who otherwise may go hungry during weekends and breaks when school lunch programs are not available.

7th grade student Alexis Green has been commended by the Broome Leadership Institute Alumni Association for starting the Windsor Knight Pack Program to provide food for children to take home.

Over 450 packs of food, containing 6,500 items have been provided under the program.

Green’s program was selected to receive 24 boxes of canned food from the recently completed Canstruction of the Southern Tier event at the Oakdale Mall that had several groups constructing structures using canned food, which was later donated to local hunger programs.
