A 43-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly drove a vehicle that slammed into a utility pole in the town of Windsor.

Authorities say Michael Fahey was charged with felony driving while intoxicated following the incident.

According to state police, troopers were called to Stannard Road to investigate a disturbance during which Fahey had tried to enter his father's home.

Police say a vehicle driven by Fahey struck and severed a nearby utility pole. Fahey then is said to have fled the scene.

Troopers found Fahey and the vehicle in a yard behind a nearby residence.

Fahey was arraigned in Windsor town court and sent to Broome County Jail without bail.
