A video surveillance system helped police nab a teenage burglary in the town of Windsor.

Authorities say a resident who returned home Wednesday evening noticed some things were missing or out of place.

A camera had been set up at the home after previous burglaries.

Investigators say the resident watched the video and recognized a neighborhood boy entering the house and then rummaging through items.

According to the Broome County Sheriff's Office, a deputy interviewed the boy at his home and the youth acknowledged he stole items from his neighbor.

Most of the jewelry and cash taken from the home was recovered.

The boy was charged with second-degree burglary, a felony. He was arraigned in Windsor town court and sent to Broome County jail without bail.
