Cortland County Sheriff’s officials say they had to chase down a Willet man for an extended distance before he stopped when they tried to pull him over for speeding on Lower Cincinnatus Road in the Town of Cincinnatus at 12:08 p.m. May 27.

Authorities say they found 50 year old Martin Bennett was driving with a revoked license and determined he was intoxicated.

He was charged with a total of ten counts: failing to comply with officers, driving while intoxicated, DWI with a blood alcohol content of .08% or higher, aggravated unlicensed operation, display of a forged inspection certificate, speeding, uninspected vehicle, unlicensed operation, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle and unsafe tires.

He’s been ordered to appear in Town of Cincinnatus court later this month.
