The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile - the "hot dog on wheels" - will be on Binghamton's North Side for an unusual appearance.

The 27-foot-long moving billboard will provide transportation to and from a wedding.

One of the Wienermobiles arrived in the Southern Tier September 24 and attracted curious onlookers who spotted it a parking lot.

The vehicle was in the area for the September 26 wedding of Brian Keefe and Katie Savelli.

Keefe told WNBF News he drove a Wienermobile for Oscar Mayer for a year starting in 2011. He said he and Katie started dating while he was on the road as a driver.

Keefe said he logged more than 40,000 miles taking the Wienermobile for appearances in the eastern United States and in the Midwest.

Keefe said he and Katie wanted the iconic vehicle to be part of their special day. So, it was to be used to transport members of the wedding party to the church and it will be used by the newlyweds after the service.
