Today (Tuesday) kicks off Binghamton Restaurant Week with 30 Binghamton establishments taking part.  Lunches are priced at $15 or less and dinners at $30 or less.  It is a delightful time to explore some outstanding dining opportunities in and around downtown Binghamton.

Today our IT Director and news anchor Sean Holbert and I visited Whole in the Wall, 43 South Washington Street for lunch.  By the time we finished we both agreed we will be back again soon.

The first thing that strikes you at Whole in the Wall is the friendly atmosphere.

They truly are happy to have you visit.  We were greeted by co-owner Stacey Gould.  She and her partner Eliot Fiks quickly make you feel at home.  Eliot started the business 35 years ago and it has been a labor of love ever since.  The motto at Whole in the Wall is "Farm to Table, all natural, organic".  Our server, Mary Pat, was outstanding.  Polite, energetic and eager to tell us about items on the menu.

Lunch consists of three courses. I chose their Creamy Mushroom gluten free soup to start.  It was a wonderful way to begin the meal.  Big portions of mushrooms in a creamy soup and very tasty.

For the second course I chose the Pesto Pita Pizza.  Served on whole wheat pita with their signature pesto sauce, mozzarella and parmesan cheese with sun-dried tomato pesto.  It was delicious.

Then, it was time for the third course...dessert.  You have to try their Raspberry Chocolate Chip Big Tease Brownie Sundae.  It features a warm brownie served with vanilla ice cream, homemade raspberry sauce with fresh whipped cream and a touch of cinnamon.  It is a great way to end your meal and it definitely will make you want to return soon.
