Broome County Sheriff’s officials accuse a Whitney Point man of stealing his former girlfriend’s car while she was away over Christmas.

The 2001 Pontiac was taken from the woman’s home on Barker Road between December 23 and December 31st.

Authorities say the owner was notified that her vehicle was impounded by the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office and 35 year old Jeremy Sickles had been arrested on separate charges.

Tuesday, Sickles was arrested by a Broome County Sheriff’s Deputy when he was released from the Cortland County Jail.

He is now charged in Broome County with grand larceny of an automobile worth more than $1,000.

Sickles was sent to the Broome County Jail.
