Broome County Sheriff’s Deputies accuse a Whitney Point man of driving with a blood alcohol level at more than twice the legal limit when he crashed into a guiderail at midnight February 6 on Route 26 in the Town of Maine.

23 year old Joseph Cronin is charged with drunk driving, driving with a blood alcohol content of .18% or higher and moving from a lane unsafely.

Sheriff’s Deputies say they were called to a crash in the area of 3617 Route 26 at  12:01 a.m. February 6.  They say they found Cronin had consumed several alcoholic beverages before getting into the vehicle and standardized field sobriety tests found Cronin to be intoxicated.

He was released to a responsible party after being ticketed and ordered to appear in Town of Maine Court at a later date.
