Authorities say 32-year-old Tanica Jones and 23-year-old Latoya Mills of Frederick Street in Westover have been charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

According to the Broome County Sheriff's Office, Jones and Mills were arrested on Monday.

Two $50 gift cards were reported stolen this month from a package on the porch of an apartment building.

The resident later found the empty package and some of its contents in a neighbor's garbage can at the same apartment house.

The stolen gift cards were used to at a pizza place and a gas station and to make online purchases.

An investigator obtained transaction information and surveillance videos from businesses to track down the suspects.

Jones and Mills were contacted and turned themselves in at the sheriff's office in the Town of Dickinson. They were released on appearance tickets for Union town court.
