New playground equipment at the West Endicott Park should be ready for use within a few days.

Construction on the project to upgrade the playground began this week.

The equipment and wood chip material for the project have been delivered to the site on Maple Street.

Town planning director Paul Nelson told WNBF News the playground could be operational sometime next week.

The project completion date may be affected by weather conditions.

Nelson said the playground upgrade will cost about $75,000. Funding is coming from money the town received through the federal Community Development Block Grant program.

The playground equipment was obtained from Miracle Recreation Equipment Company, which is based in Missouri.
