The Welcome Back B-Mets Dinner drew an estimated 500 fans last night at the Doubletree by Hilton in downtown Binghamton.. The dinner has become a tradition with fans of all ages turning out to meet the new players and talk baseball.

The event started with an autograph session.  Each fan attending received a baseball that they could take to players who ringed the dining area to sign autographs and pose for photos.  Following the autograph session the dinner's organizer Robin Alpaugh got the meal underway.

Following the meal Binghamton Mets' play-by-play broadcaster Tim Heiman introduced third-year manager Pedro Lopez and his coaching staff.  Glenn Abbott returns as the team's pitching coach with former B-Met Luis Rivera taking over the hitting coach duties for Luis Natera who was promoted to assistant hitting coach with the New York Mets.

Proceeds from the dinner go to benefit the B-Mets Booster Club.  The Booster Club is also looking for new members to help them promote the ball club and baseball in the area. Interested fans can stop by the Booster Club table in the concourse at home games or contact the B-Mets office for additional information.
