Weather Woes in New York State
It is expected to be a tough weekend ahead for travelers in parts of New York State. While our area is predicted to get on and off snow showers, flurries and occasional squalls that can bring several inches of snow to the area other parts of the state can get two feet or more of the white stuff.
Various weather services are predicting lake effect snow that can cause hazardous driving conditions.
According to the National Weather Serrvice amounts varied from 12 inches in Cattaraugus County south of Buffalo to 17 inches in Lewis County in the Tug Hill region east of Lake Ontario.
Wind gusts up to 30 miles per hour can compound snowfall amounts to severely reduce visibility and cause slippery, hazardous driving conditions. Weather information for our area can be found at wnbf.com and throughout the weekend on News Radio 1290 WNBF !
