Winter officially begins on Wednesday, December 21 but you wouldn't know that it isn't already upon us with the forecast for the next several days.  Bitterly cold temperatures have moved into our area and as cold as it is now it is going to get colder.  While snow showers and squalls are likely the major issue will be temperatures dropping to near zero and winds that can gust close to 45 miles per hour.

The National Weather Service predicts wind chills can make it seem like three below or colder.  Along with severely cold temperatures weather officials advise that with winds of that force predicted even a small amount of snowfall can turn into treacherous driving very quickly and dramatically reduce visibility.
