Two elementary schools in West Corners dismissed hundreds of students early Thursday because of a major water line break.

Students at the Ann McGuinness and Linnaeus West schools were dismissed at 10:45 a.m. as a result of the ruptured line on Route 26.

The Linnaeus West school is the temporary site for Owego Elementary School students.

About 100 West Corners and Union Center customers served by the Endicott Water System were without water service for several hours.

Repairs have been completed and both schools are planning to operate with normal schedules on Friday.
