A Harpursville man, wanted on felony warrants out of Binghamton, Johnson City and New York State Police, is facing several new charges after trying to out-run Broome County Sheriff’s Deputies and getting his vehicle stuck in the mud.

Officials say they saw a mini van failing to stop at a stop sign while leaving Otsiningo Park at 2:25 p.m. June 11.

The van, driven by 32 year old Michell McComas, didn’t pull over for authorities and sped through north side neighborhoods at a high rate of speed, striking at least one other vehicle.

The van became stuck as McComas tried to drive down railroad tracks at Route 7 and Old State Road in the Town of Dickinson. He got out and fled on foot.

He was apprehended by Binghamton Police as he tried to run across Route 7.

McComas is charged with reckless endangerment, unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, reckless driving and 24 vehicle and traffic violations.
