The annual CHOW Hunger Walk is scheduled for this Sunday, September 18 at Binghamton University.  CHOW, the Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse, provides over one million meals each year for needy people in our community.  Operating under the direction of the Broome County Council of Churches CHOW operates numerous food pantries around the area and provides food for needy families and individuals.

Walkers on Sunday are requested to bring pledges and contributions along with non-perishable food items.  In place of glass jars CHOW officials ask that plastic containers or cans be utilized.  Not only is it safer for workers and volunteers who may get cut on broken glass but it prevents wasted food as well.  Cereals, peanut butter, soups, pasta and baby formula are items that are specifically requested.

Sunday's CHOW Walk begins behind BU's East Gym.  Registration begins at 1:00 PM with the Walk at 2:00 PM.  Sodexo will provide refreshments for all walkers at the conclusion of the event.
