Volunteers Sought for Owego Dog Park
The Owego Dog Owners Group is recruiting people to provide help at a recently-opened dog park in Tioga County.
The facility, which was constructed last year in the Hickories Park in the Town of Owego, opened about five months ago.
Project manager Steve Paul said many canines and their owners have been using the dog park. He said it's not uncommon for 25 dogs to be at the park at one time.
Paul said there are plenty of regular users, along with a constant stream of first-time visitors.
The group which oversees the facility is seeking more volunteers to pitch in. Paul said volunteers keep an eye on park operations and replenish supplies.
People interested in volunteer opportunities may obtain more information at the organization's website: owegodogs.org.
