Binghamton’s Recreation is quite a bit cleaner today as a group that has benefitted from New York State Industries for the Disabled says “thanks.”

Volunteers from ACHIEVE and Country Valley Industries joined NYSID for a day of service across the state September 17 with the local group cleaning the surfaces of the carousel at Rec. Park, raking the grounds and collecting litter.

The event marked the 40th anniversary of the program that provides business opportunities and jobs for New Yorkers with developmental disabilities.

The Rec. Park work pairs with the progress of the development of the OurSpace project that is developing the park facilities to be accessible for people of all ages and abilities.
