The Veterans Administration may be looking at opening a new clinic in the City of Binghamton.

It’s being widely reported that the VA is looking at the recently closed Weis supermarket space on Main Street on the West Side.

An employee of a Chinese Restaurant, which, along with a free-standing bank, is the lone remaining occupant of the plaza, said weeks before the store closed that the plaza owner had a potential tenant for the site.

Another site supposedly being considered is the former Sheltered Workshop facility on Court Street.

The current clinic is being operated at the Greater Binghamton Health Center at the top of the hill on Robinson Street.

The VA probably won’t have a decision on the relocation of the clinic before next year.
