Vestal to Regulate Rail Trail Traffic

The town of Vestal is taking steps to boost police presence on the popular Rail Trail after a woman was recently hit from behind by a racing bicycle.  Police say on Labor Day, Julia Murphy of Illinois, who was walking with her sister, was knocked down by the bike and injured.  James Murphy of Vestal, who is not related to the woman, is charged with assault in the incident. The town will be imposing a 10 mile per hour speed limit for bicyclists and rollerbladers using the trail.
