Add the Vestal Schools to the districts agreeing to have Broome County to take over some tax collection and enforcement duties.

The County says the cooperative effort will save the school district and its tax payers money while generating about $10,000 in revenue for the County.

2017 school taxes will be collected by the Broome County Real Property Tax Service.  Payments can be made in person or by mail.  In addition, in-person payments can be made at the Town of Vestal Tax Receiver’s Office on Front Street between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Wednesdays through October.  Payments will be accepted October 2 and October 31 as well.  There will be no online payments accepted this year.

Vestal is the tenth district to sign on, joining Binghamton, Chenango Forks, Chenango Valley, Deposit, Johnson City, Maine-Endwell, Susquehanna Valley, Union-Endicott and Whitney Point.
