Officials in the Town of Vestal are inviting community members to attend their second annual Citizens Police Academy (CPA).  The program is going to be offered to Town of Vestal residents and non-Vestal residents with children in the Vestal Central School District.

This program is going to be offered free of charge and take place over a 10-week period. Those who participate will meet once a week in two-hour sessions to cover various topics relating to the community and the approach of law enforcement and emergency services.

Topics to be covered include: Patrol Division, Use of Force, Criminal Investigations, DWI, Role of the Bystander, Drug Recognition, Self Defense, Firearm Safety, SWAT and presentations from the Vestal Volunteer Emergency Squad and the Vestal Volunteer Fire Department.

Classes begin March 24th and run through May 26th and will be held on Thursday nights from 6:30 - 8:30 PM in the Town Board room.  Those interested in taking part in the 2016 CPA can contact Sergeant Stace Kintner via email at:
